Furling masts or furling reefs are becoming ever more popular. There are however clear differences in quality and reliability. TUNED uses Seldén, the most developed brand and the benchmark for reliability for in-mast furling. The furling system is operated with an endless line, handled by a winch on the mast. This winch can easily be used manually in an emergency. The profile in the mast is tensioned to ensure minimal friction during furling. Meanwhile this ensures an optimal main sail profile. If you are changing from a normal mast to a furling mast, we will consider points such a stability, position of the deck hardware and the possibility of reusing components from the current rig.

The new Seldén profiles are easy to combine with the fully vertically battened Max'Roach main sails, keeping the loss of sail area, when changing to a furling mast from a hoisting mast, to a minimum.
