Vester has been sailing for many years on a great variety of boats. Beginning in the Optimist and the Pluis, he has been an active windsurfer for many years. From 1987 to 1991 he crewed aboard the 23m long traditional Dutch oostzeetjalk "Vrouwe Johanna" and the 42m River Clipper "Manna". After this he sailed various cruising yachts.

Racing History

In 1998 he joined the Swan 47 "Bolero" as foresail trimmer, sailing the IJmuiden - Lissabon regatta and the North Sea Race amongst other races. From 1999 to 2001 he was skipper/ mainsail trimmer on his own Eyghtene 24 "Dinky Toy", during various regattas on the Ijsselmeer and Wadden Sea and various long voyages to various countries including Denmark and Heligoland. From 2001 until present he is the mainsail trimmer on the X332 "Yellow Rose" during various regattas in the Netherlands, England (Cowes week 3 times) and Ireland (Cork week). See Also www.x35.nl. From 2002 to present he has sailed various Max Fun 25s as mainsail trimmer, for example during the Naarden Open 2002 and 2003, North Sea Regatta 2003 and the Max Fun Dutch Championships 2003.
